Tracking Tips

As of now, I'm not going to go into much depth as far as Tracking tips, or techniques go, for now I'm just going to give some basics, which may seem as common sense, but a lot of the time they are ignored not used, and sometimes you might have even known them :)

1 ) Make sure that your instrument volumes aren't all set to full, if they are, it'll sound crowded, set them to what they should be. Put your main instruments louder, and your background instruments quieter

2) When your playing an instrument you would never play every note at the same volume, you have to use volume commands, to insert dynamics. This can often make your modules seem twice as authentic.

3) Use good samples, remember if they're too big in size it isn't always because they are good quality, I find often it is because they are too long and could be cropped and looped much sooner.

4) Don't use just 1 channel, when you switch notes as often as possible, the more the better, when changing notes fadeout the previous note, and start the next note in a new channel of its own. You don't always have to do this, but it will often make things sound more realistic as in real life, there are no limited amounts of channels.

5) Use speed ups and slow downs like you would in real music

6) Above all, download as many mods as you can, you can never stop learning techniques, because they are constantly being invented.

7) The last thing you can do that will help a lot, is learn some theory, I will eventually have a theory page up, but I can't stress how much it will actually help you compose. No matter how good a tracker you are, you probably won't be a very good composer unless you learn your theory.
